You can't judge a thesis by its title!

It is fascinating how the ability to search full-text has revealed sources of works on Simone that might otherwise have been passed by. The title of the work below does not signal that it would have anything to do with Simone, but in fact the bulk of it does!

Khatib, Michael. "The Examination of Certain Theories of Human Perfection in Relation to Their Authors' Valuation of Human Materiality." University of Ottawa, 1997

From the abstract: "I also provide a detailed analysis of Simone Weil's philosophy, bringing to light the positive value she placed on the material aspects of human existence in relation to man's final end. "

2010 Simone Weil Lecture on Human Value

Annually, the Australian Catholic University holds the Simone Weil Lectures on Human Value. "The lectures are not intended to be a forum for engaging specifically with the work of Simone Weil, but are inspired by Weil's commitment to recognising the full humanity of our fellow human being, by her moral idealism and by her commitment to social justice issues"

Antony Duff will given the 2010 lecture in August in Melbourne and Sydney.
